Wordsnova ("the App") is developed and published by Veloptix. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the Wordsnova iOS application and describes how we handle information when you use the App.
By using Wordsnova, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Wordsnova is designed with privacy-first principles. Here is a summary of what data is collected and where it is stored:

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, location, or any personal identifiers. No account is required to play.
3. How We Use Information
The limited information we process is used solely to:
- Provide and improve the Wordsnova game experience
- Track your progress, streaks, and stats locally on your device
- Enforce daily AI hint limits per session
- Restore your purchase entitlements via Apple's StoreKit
- Identify and fix crashes through Apple's anonymous diagnostic reports
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
4. Offline Play & Local Data
Wordsnova is built for offline-first play. All game data — your progress, streaks, stats, word history, and settings — is stored locally on your device.
If you enable iCloud Backup on your iPhone (a system-level setting controlled by you, not the app), your local app data may be included in your iCloud backup as part of iOS standard behavior. This backup is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not operate our own servers for game data storage or synchronization.
5. AI Hints
The AI hint system in Wordsnova generates contextual clues to help you solve puzzles. Here is how it works:
- Hint generation: Hints are pre-computed and bundled with the app — no data is sent to external AI servers when you request a hint.
- No personal data used: The hint system does not use your personal information or game history to generate hints.
- Usage tracking: The number of hints you have used today is stored on-device only to enforce the daily limit.
6. In-App Purchases
Wordsnova offers optional premium features through in-app subscriptions. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see, store, or process your payment information directly.
To restore purchases on a new device, the App uses Apple's StoreKit framework, which verifies your purchase receipt with Apple's servers. This process does not share any personal data with us.
7. Notifications
Wordsnova may request permission to send you local notifications (e.g., daily challenge reminders). If you grant permission:
- Notifications are scheduled locally on your device — no data is sent to our servers to trigger them.
- You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Wordsnova.
We do not use push notification tokens for analytics or marketing.
8. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. The only exceptions are:
- Apple: For App Store distribution, in-app purchase verification, and optional anonymous crash diagnostics through iOS settings.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority, we may disclose information as necessary.
9. Data Security
All game data is stored locally on your device using iOS's sandboxed storage, which is protected by your device's security features (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode). We do not transmit game data over the internet.
For any data that does interact with Apple's services (purchases, crash reports), it is governed by Apple's security practices and their Privacy Policy.
10. Data Retention & Deletion
Your game data exists only on your device. To delete all data:
- Delete the app: Uninstalling Wordsnova from your iPhone removes all local app data permanently.
- Reset in-app: You can reset your progress from the App's Settings screen without uninstalling.
We do not maintain backups of your game data on our servers because we do not store it there in the first place.
11. Children's Privacy
Wordsnova is designed for general audiences and is suitable for all ages. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Because we do not collect personal information from any user, the App is naturally compliant with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). No account creation or personal data submission is required to play.
12. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data. Since Wordsnova stores all game data locally on your device and collects no personally identifiable information, most of these rights are exercised directly through your device:
- Access: All your data is on your device — open the app to see your stats, history, and progress.
- Deletion: Delete the app or use the in-app reset to erase all game data.
- Portability: Your data is on your device and accessible to you directly.
- Opt-out of sale: We do not sell personal data. There is nothing to opt out of.

13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted in the App's update release notes on the App Store.
