We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have over your information when using RiseAlarm AI.
Plain language summary: RiseAlarm AI collects only the data needed to power your alarm, sleep tracking, and morning tasks. We do not sell your personal data. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
This Privacy Policy describes how Veloptix, Inc. ("Veloptix", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the RiseAlarm AI mobile application ("App") and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By downloading or using RiseAlarm AI, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
This policy applies to all users of RiseAlarm AI on iOS and watchOS. It is intended to comply with applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Apple's App Store privacy guidelines.
If you enable the QR Code wake task, the App requests camera access to scan the QR code. Camera access is used only at the moment of scanning — we do not capture, store, or transmit any images. The camera is never accessed in the background.
RiseAlarm AI uses Apple's push notification infrastructure to deliver alarms. With your explicit permission, we use Critical Alerts to sound alarms even when your device is on Silent or Do Not Disturb. A push token is stored to enable this functionality. This token is not used for marketing.
If you use the RiseAlarm AI Watch App, alarm state, task status, and sleep data are shared between your iPhone and Apple Watch using WatchConnectivity. This data does not leave your devices except where explicitly synced to Apple Health.

We use the information we collect to:
We do not use your sleep, motion, or alarm data for advertising purposes. We do not build advertising profiles from your personal data.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
We use trusted third-party service providers to help operate the App. These providers process data only on our behalf and according to our instructions:
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with applicable law, a court order, or governmental regulation; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Veloptix, our users, or the public.
If Veloptix is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We may share your information with third parties only when you explicitly request or consent to such sharing.
With your explicit permission, RiseAlarm AI may read from and write to Apple Health (HealthKit):
Important: HealthKit data is never used for advertising, never shared with third parties for advertising, and never sold. This is both an Apple requirement and our own firm policy.
You can manage HealthKit permissions at any time in the iPhone Health app → Sharing → Apps → RiseAlarm AI.
The App uses Apple's Core Motion framework to count steps when you select the Motion wake task. Motion access is requested only when you enable this task type. Step counts are verified on-device in real time and are not stored in our servers after task completion.
You can revoke motion permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness → RiseAlarm AI.
Camera access is used exclusively to scan QR codes during an active alarm. No images are captured, stored, or transmitted. The camera session ends immediately after a valid QR scan is detected.
You can revoke camera permissions at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → RiseAlarm AI. Revoking access disables the QR Code wake task.
RiseAlarm AI requires notification permission to deliver alarms. Critical Alerts — which bypass Silent mode and Do Not Disturb — require a separate, explicit permission grant. You may disable Critical Alerts at any time in Settings → Notifications → RiseAlarm AI → Critical Alerts.
We use push tokens solely to deliver alarm notifications and system alerts. They are never used for marketing or analytics.
Alarm schedules, task status, and sleep summaries are shared between your iPhone and Apple Watch via Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This communication occurs directly between your paired devices. Watch data is not transmitted to our servers independently.
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure hosted in the United States. Firebase complies with industry-standard security certifications including ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
We implement the following security measures:
While we take strong precautions, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please contact us at aleem.rz@gmail.com.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service:
You may request deletion of specific data or your entire account at any time — see Section 8.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you by contacting us at aleem.rz@gmail.com. Your sleep history can be exported from Profile → Settings → Export Data within the App.
You may update or correct your account information at any time from your profile settings within the App.
You may delete your account and all associated data:
Upon deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
You can revoke any of the following device permissions at any time in iOS Settings without deleting your account:
You may opt out of usage analytics from within the App at Profile → Settings → Privacy → Share Analytics.
